    Jason Roussell

    I grew up in New Orleans, came to Baton Rouge for LSU and started my family here.


    I'm a proud father of 2 beautiful little girls and have come to love the city I call home, Baton Rouge.

     

    There are so many wonderful things that are happening in Louisiana but that isn't always what makes the highlight real.

     

    Unfortunately, there is more negative than positive and it was my goal to share all the amazing things happening in the city.

     

    I started FoundersBR to highlight the amazing leaders and innovators creating opportunities for others and making an amazing impact to so many.

    Landon was born and raised in and around Baton Rouge, LA and met his wife at LSU. After living for a brief time in Seattle, WA and in Northern California, he and his wife have built their home with their four daughters in Baton Rouge. Landon is the President of Snow Consulting, which grew out of his great success as Vice President of Culture at Brown Industries. He became Vice President of Culture in 2013, overseeing the success of its rapid growth while maintaining a thriving culture. Since then, Landon and his wife Stacie established the Baton Rouge-based church, Cedar House, in 2014, where they are cultivating a culture based on community, relationship, and the presence of God.
    Landon's passion is to create jobs that lead people into their full potential while fostering a culture of value and significance. He desires to have a positive impact on other people's lives and considers everyday a privilege to be a part of such a great team and work environment.
    His main goal is to serve leaders by creating an environment of trust and empowerment as the organization postures itself for significant growth.
    His specialties are: interpersonal communication, team building, leadership development, networking, public speaking, and being a great husband and dad.

    Blake Fowler is the Broker and Owner of EXIT Realty Group. A native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of LSU, Blake has over 15 years of experience in residential real estate across the greater Baton Rouge area.

    Blake is passionate about inspiring excellence in others. He works with EXIT Realty Group's agents to develop and refine their skills; empowering them to create meaningful change in their personal and professional lives.

    Craig Stevens

    Craig Stevens is a Louisiana native born and raised in Opelousas. Upon graduating High School, Craig immediately left for the Air Force. In his 25 year career in the military, Craig served multiple roles including Fireman, Executive Officer, Flight Commander and ultimately retiring as Captain in the 93rd Bomb Squadron. 

     

    After his service in the military, Craig served as Director of Operations for Circle K Convenience Stores where he was responsible for the Operations of 105 convenience stores throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.

     

    Craig is currently President of Genesis 360 Construction & Maintenance. He started the business in 2011 by doing parking lot striping which has now grown to a full blown one-stop shop for any type of construction and facility/property maintenance.

     

    In addition, Craig is a very proud supporter of the local community as he serves on the board for Baton Rouge Food Bank (former), Boys & Girls Club, Dream Teachers (former), BREC, and Home Builders Association. He is also a recent graduate of Leadership Ascension, New Orleans Emerging Leaders, additionally a Rotarian. He is married to the lovely Felicia Stevens whose a 4th grade teacher at GW Carver in Ascension Parish and they have 2 year old twin babies.

    Marie Powell

    Founder- Brew Agency

    Marie has 20 years of branding, design and advertising experience that ranges from developing multi-media advertising campaigns to creating high-powered designs for national brands.

     

    Her background extends 2,500 miles across the country from Baton Rouge, LA all the way to Portland, OR.

     

    Over the course of her career, Marie has worked her way up the creative ladder from graphic designer to art director, creative director to brand strategist and now agency owner - and most importantly wife and mom. She has received dozens of awards for her creativity from the American Advertising Federation over her career.

     

    Brew Agency was founded in 2010 to provide clients with strategic and creative communication materials that help to identify their brands and grow their businesses. Marie is on a mission to build an inspiring work environment for family-centric people that supports flexibility, encourages mobility and ignites creativity.

    Jacob Jolibois

    Co-Founder- Block

    Jacob is an award-winning UI/UX designer, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Block, an early-stage tech company for the lawn care industry.

    Previously, he was a Principal and Director of Digital Strategy at MESH, a full-service creative agency, where he led a team of designers, writers, strategists and project managers to create beautiful, engaging customer experiences across the web.

    He also founded a podcast network and production company called Parachute.fm with Abraham Felix. As the host of their flagship podcast, altBR, Jacob has had over 100 conversations with Baton Rouge’s most notable change makers, celebrating their work to make Baton Rouge a better place. In 2017, the Parachute.fm team brought together the city’s movers and shakers for The altBR Summit to hear from speakers such as Mayor Sharon Broome, Metromorphesis founder, Pastor Raymond Jetson and Walls Project CEO, Casey Phillips, as they inspired and cast vision for the city.

    Following in their footsteps to move the city forward, Jacob has volunteered with a variety of local organizations including CASA, Futures Fund and Junior Achievement. He’s also served on the board or advisory council of Dream Teachers, Laurel Oaks Elementary and Mid City Makers Market, bringing his expertise in human-centered design to education and community events.

    As a result of his efforts in the Baton Rouge community, he was named one of 225 Magazine’s 2018 People to Watch and a Great Futures Honoree by Boy's and Girl's Club of Baton Rouge.

    Jacob has spoken on stages around the world from Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal to TEDx in order to teach future generations about the power and impact of design.

    Though it’s often hard to distinguish his work from his play, on his “off-hours” he's authored a couple of books, backpacked across the world, written 300+ articles on simple, creative living and won awards for his family's quirky annual Christmas Cards.

    Nick began his professional career as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Atlanta, where he consulted on efforts ranging from strategic growth, mergers and acquisitions, and outsourcing and procurement efforts for Fortune 100 companies to the design and implementation of operating and business models.

     

    Nick graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. In addition to his client involvement, Nick currently serves as a member of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s Board of Directors, the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, the Committee of 100 for Economic Development, LABI’s Emerging Leaders Council, and the Ben Blanchard Memorial Foundation. Nick previously served as president of the Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge Board of Directors. Nick was recognized by the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report as a 2014 “Forty Under 40” recipient and, in 2015, he was honored by The Emerge Center as a Baton Rouge Area Volunteer Activist.

    Rob Wise is a self-proclaimed entrepreneur since his early days of washing cars, cutting grass, recycling cans, and setting prices or selling items at garage sales. As a boy, Rob enjoyed doing hard work, leaving something better than he found it, and helping people. As an adult, he manages to find the same fulfillment in business by impacting and inspiring those around him at ITinspired where he is the CEO and co-owner.

     

    In seven years, ITinspired has grown to a staff of twenty people and hit several milestones along the way. Notable achievements include ranking 2,584th on the Inc5000 list in 2018 as one of the nation’s fastest-growing companies, Inc.'s Best Places to Work in 2018 and 2019, the 2019 and 2020 Louisiana Growth Leader Award, and LSU's Top 100 Tiger Led Businesses of 2019.

    He enjoys working on his self-development and business leadership skills in programs such as the LED CEO and SEBD Roundtables, Economic Gardening, Leadership Baton Rouge, Leadership Louisiana, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, American Academy of Entrepreneurs Mentor program, and the Louisiana Growth Leader Network. Rob is also a volunteer for Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge & Acadiana, Nepris Inc., and Red Cross.

     

    He is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a bachelor's in ISDS and a minor in Electronic Media. Rob is a former LSU Cheerleader and Mike the Tiger mascot. He met his wife Michelle, a former LSU Tiger Girl, on a bus ride to a collegiate dance and cheer camp in San Marcos, TX. Rob and Michelle are happy parents of two beautiful children and are proud to call Baton Rouge home.

    Frankie Robertson

    Founder - The Amandla Group

    Frankie Robertson is the Founder and President of The Amandla Group, a social justice consulting firm addressing the social and political determinants of health to eradicate health disparities for Black and brown birthing people. She has worked in public administration for more than two decades. Her maternal and child health work spans over a decade and began as the state director of the Louisiana Chapter of March of Dimes.

     

    Frankie completed her undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University and received a Masters of Public Administration from the Nelson Mandela College of Government and Social Sciences at Southern University. She is also an alumna of Council for a Better Louisiana’s Leadership Louisiana. She serves on the board of Dialogue on Race Louisiana, Louisiana Budget Project, Saul’s Light Foundation, is a member of the Woman’s Hospital NICU Parents Advisory Committee, and the LA Perinatal Quality Collaborative Advocacy and Policy Subcommittee. She is also a member of Moms of Black Boys United for Social Change and a founding member of the Baton Rouge Chapter of Moms of Black Boys United.

     

    Frankie was featured in Ebony Magazine as a Young Leader of the Future, is a 40 under 40 honoree of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, and was recently named a 2020 Woman with a Cause by InRegister Magazine.

     

    Frankie is grateful for her supportive family, her husband, and two children, a five-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.

    A business and global healthcare leader on thinking, innovation, and creativity, Mr. Fuselier has maintained practice in executive management since 1998 and global public health since 1995. Driven by a passion for multinational business, finance, and healthcare, as a certified public accountant and advanced practice public health registered nurse, Mr. Fuselier has developed expertise in international finance, management, and global healthcare leadership. Proficient in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French and has maintained a network throughout the United States, in Canada, Central and South America and Europe in a variety of industries including education, music and entertainment, real estate and law.

     

    Michael has received a number of accolades during his career including a 2017 Service Excellence Award as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, 2002 distinguished fundraiser award from United Way of Acadiana, induction into the Omicron Delta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in 1998, award for excellence in Research and Leadership in 1995 from McNeese State University, and induction into Phi Kappa Phi national honor society and the Kappa Psi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau international honor societies in 1995.

     

    He served as administrator of Doctors' Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation Center of Opelousas in 1998, administrator of the Recovery Center of Lake Charles, Louisiana in 2002. Later, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Vermilion Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2004 and then as Chief Executive Officer of Dubuis Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana. From 2005 to 2011 he spearheaded the creation of several new enterprises and took over as Chief Executive Officer of a conglomerate of businesses that included a chain of health, wellness and pharmaceutical providers including Remedies®, Scriptex®, Relief Plus® and ACTIO® Healthcare Management firms.

     

    Later, in 2012 Mr. Fuselier assumed the position of Chief Finance Officer of Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital where he achieved exceptional earnings growth and innovative initiatives using informational technology and data integration. He then was appointed Chief Finance Officer for David Raines Community Health Centers in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2018 where he is instrumental in robust improvements in financial accounting and reporting, the use of business intelligence and organizational transformation where he served until 2020. In June of 2020, he joined eQHealth Solutions, LLC as the company’s Chief Finance Officer.

     

    An energetic and vibrant speaker, Mr. Fuselier has delivered countless addresses nationwide on topics ranging from Effective Planning and Management with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to Building an Effective Business Costing Platform with the Physician Hospitals Association. In collaboration with Acadiana Computer Systems based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Fuselier delivered a presentation on Creating Dashboards and Scorecards that Get Results to an audience of healthcare executives and thought leaders. Recent presentations and written work include addresses on Effective Employee Performance Management and Preparing for Value Based Payment Systems.

     

    As an accomplished linguist, Mr. Fuselier works as a translator and has published multiple written works on the topic of linguistics in business and healthcare. Some of his most recent and notable works include Cinque Motivi per Assumere Talenti Multilingue, Los Líderes con Competencia en un Segundo Idioma Hacen Mejores Decisiones, and Aptidão Crítica do Negócio: Esteja Preparado Para Dizer "Não", El Plan de Negocios para Entrada Mercados Nuevos para los Emprendedores Internacionales, El Plan de Marketing para El Sabor del Luisiana en América Latina.

     

    Mr. Fuselier graduated from Louisiana State University at Eunice in 1992 where he earned an associate degree. He later graduated from McNeese State University in 1995 where he earned a bachelor’s degree with honors and was elected to Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society and the Kappa Psi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. He then earned a master’s degree from University of Phoenix with honors and was elected to Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. He was a post-graduate Fellow in healthcare management at Lake Charles Memorial Health System in 1999. As part of his diverse repertoire of industry experience, Mr. Fuselier also studied Music and Music Business through Berklee College of Music, Teaching Foreign Language through Arizona State University and Construction Management through New York State University

     

    Mr. Fuselier is an active member of multiple professional and civic organizations. He serves as a mentor to young professionals and is an active volunteer and board member with many non-profit organizations. He and his wife reside in Louisiana and have three children.

In his spare time, Bill enjoys working as an independent video producer and is actively involved in community theatre. He is a long-time member of Lions Club and has served on boards of several non-profit groups. He and his wife Melissa have two daughters, Molly and Miranda.

     

    Bill is part of Horizon’s retirement plan division. Through the 401(k)onfidence System™, he and the team work with some of the top plan providers in the industry to custom build plans, deliver competitive pricing and find solutions to problems that can sometimes be hard to detect. He also cohosts the “Inside the Plan with the 401k Brothers” podcast designed especially for plan participants. Bill’s certifications that pertain specifically to retirement plans include: Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist™ and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor™.

     

    Bill has been a Financial Advisor since 2015. He works with a select group of individuals and families on their personal financial plans and on any respective investment management needs. In addition to Bill’s Retirement Plan certifications, he also maintains his Series 7 and 66 securities registrations.

     

    Bill’s unique background in broadcasting has been instrumental in Horizon communications with clients. He produces and manages the firm’s 4 podcast series and oversees all in-house Horizon video creation.

    Jay Thompson - CEO

    Sitech Louisiana

    Jay Thompson’s first fascination with leadership came by looking up to his Grandparents and learning the captivating family origin story about a WWII wedding of an Army Capt. James Thompson to Lt. Opal Larson in a tent chapel of the 170th General Hospital near LeMaus, France. Jay spent a good deal of his youth in admiration of the Doctor and Nurse couple who spent their lives operating a small business as Eunice’s only Doctors office. Whenever visiting Jay was always happy to see the faces and hear the stories of his Grandparents practice as recounted by those who lived them.
     

    Jay wanted to do more than just appreciate stories of leadership, he wanted to make a difference in people’s lives just like the countless stories he grew up hearing. With this in mind, Jay earned two bachelor’s degrees from Louisiana State University and went on to complete an MBA from Southeastern University.
    Starting work with Louisiana Cat, he specialized in increasing performance through continuous improvement and the development of people and processes and by age 29 he was managing 50+ people.
    While achieving the level of 6 Sigma Master Black Belt, he coached or led over 60 improvement projects resulting in over $11.8M in annual savings.
    By age 39 he was serving as SITECH Louisiana’s chief executive producing 914% Revenue growth through employee development and inspiring the team to buy into our WHY - Building a Better Louisiana. This buy in enabled us to transform customer businesses with Technology.

    Cary Prejean - Founder - CFO Consulting, LLC

    Cary Prejean is the founder of CFO Consulting, LLC with over 40 years of experience as a CPA, CFO in industry and as a CFO consultant. He works with business owners to help them turn their business into a well-oiled machine.

     

    Cary has taught courses at LSU, UL-Lafayette, Southeastern Louisiana University and Baton Rouge Community College.

     

    He is also the founder of the Louisiana Business Owners Innovative Solutions Forum.

     

    Cary is an honors graduate of UL-Lafayette, and lives in Baton Rouge with his wife Karen.

    Erica Buchanan - Executive Director - Cadence of Acadiana & CEO of Violet Vision

    Erica received her Masters degree in Business
    Administration, Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University and Shreveport. Erica also pursued her Theological studies at United Theological Seminary and Bible College. She served as the Director of Christian Education for Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas for over five years.

     

    Erica is the youngest of a large family and the godmother of three. Erica started her career in foster care and adoption and later in international adoptions. After the death of Erika's beloved sister Michelle, she found great passion and purpose in her position leading cadence of Acadiana which serves to advocate and connect individuals with developmental, intellectual and physical disabilities to supports and resources that would help them live full, inclusive and rewarding lives in their home and community.

     

    Cadence of Acadiana also provides those services to individuals who are elderly and who have traumatic head and spinal cord injuries. Erica serves on the board of a number of organizations across the country. Her involvement on the board the community provider Association allows her to land her expertise to the only association in Louisiana that represents providers who serve to support individuals with
    developmental, intellectual, and advanced aged needs. She also serves on the board of the Louisiana support coordination alliance which is committed to working with like agencies to promote best practices serving this very precious community. Erica is very involved with ANCOR, The American Network of Community Options and Resources as a mentor for up and coming leaders in their organizations and to serve as a voice from the state of Louisiana on disability services and home and community based practices.

     

    Erica is also the President and CEO of Violet Vision International. Violet vision’s teams of professionals offer professional development services, commercial and home construction, facilities management, IT support and cybersecurity services, leadership training, business development, interior, business and home design as well as branding and marketing services.

     

    Erica is a licensed minister who enjoys sharing the Good News and the hope that it brings any time she has the opportunity. As a person who enjoyed playing sports in school, Erica still enjoys going to sporting events including football, NBA, WNBA, volleyball and other sports. Erica loves traveling the world and enjoys a good road trip when time permits. She also loves spending time with friends and her family and can
    usually be found smiling.

    Chris King - Managing Partner - Next Level Solutions

    Chris is an accomplished senior executive in the areas of accounting, finance, data management, and operations. He has extensive experience in the small business environment with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges small business owners face. Throughout his career, Chris has held and currently holds leadership positions with several companies ranging in size from startups to mature firms with $50MM in annual revenue.

     

    Chris is an inspiring leader and team builder with a collaborative spirit. He is a graduate of the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business and cofounded Next Level Solutions, LLC in April 2013. Chris is also the President / CEO / Co-Founder of The Cajun Army, Inc. and serves in a leadership capacity with Kairos Prison Ministry and Girls on the Run BR. He has served in other volunteer leadership roles with First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge, Camp Istrouma and The Tiger Gridiron Club.

     

    He has been married to his wife Amy for 27 years and has two daughters

    that graduated from Louisiana State University. Chris and Amy also have 3

    basset hounds named Daisy, Ruby, and Honey.

    David St. Romain - Founder - Songs of Survivors

    David St Romain is the founder and executive director of Songs of Survivors, a nonprofit organization located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that is dedicated to helping veterans heal through the power of music. David served eight years in the Louisiana National Guard and has spent more than 30 years in the music industry. In 2007, he placed third in USA Network’s Nashville Star out of thousands of contestants and spent the next several years touring the United States. David has more than 10,000 performances under his belt and has released more than 100 recordings. He has written songs with the best songwriters in the music industry, including Randy Owen of Alabama and Dan Tyler, a Nashville songwriter and producer who has numerous number one hits in his catalog.
     
    David began to experience the most fulfilling period of his life when he decided to combine his love of the military with his love of music. Through his philanthropic work with veterans, he has been able to bring the healing aspect of music to those who have experienced PTSD and other traumas as a result of their service. He also works with numerous organizations to connect those in need with those who can help. David is a featured inspirational speaker at conferences and events and on radio and television shows.
     
    David was recently honored with the Roddy Richard Life Achievement Award from Louisiana Youth Seminar. He is also a graduate of Leadership Louisiana’s class of 2022.
